Located at the northeastern corner of Akiyoshidai Plateau Quasi-National Park, Taishodo Cave has been called the "Cattle Hiding Cave" since ancient times. That is because, it is said, a villager hid his cattle inside the cave during wars and civil wars, because he was afraid they would be stolen.
To the cave entrance via the "Road of Romance," a "wisteria trellis" passageway made of spectacular marble columns.
Inside the cave, there are many attractions, including the "Entrance to Hell," "Unsteady Passage," and "Lion's Rock." Visitors can enjoy the thrill of cave exploration.
